Take your students on an enriching journey through the heart of Melbourne’s Aboriginal history with the Birrarung Wilam (River Camp) Walk. This interactive experience is designed to engage students with the cultural significance of the land and the stories of the Kulin Nation.
Starting at Federation Square, the walk takes you to the stunning Birrarung Wilam Aboriginal art installations, where students will learn about Birrarung Marr (meaning "Beside the river of mists") and the transformation of this land over time. Guided by one of our experienced Cultural Guides, the tour delves into the history, culture, and traditions of the Aboriginal Peoples of the Kulin Nation. The journey continues into the Koorie Heritage Trust for a hands-on exploration of Aboriginal tools, shields, possum-skin cloaks, and other important cultural artifacts.
