Strengthen your team’s connection to culture, history, and community with the Birrarung Wilam (River Camp) Walk—an enriching experience tailored for corporate groups. This guided journey begins at Federation Square and takes your team down to the stunning Birrarung Wilam Aboriginal art installations. Led by one of our experienced Cultural Guides, your group will explore the deep history of Birrarung Marr (meaning "Beside the river of mists") and learn about the enduring stories of the Aboriginal Peoples of the Kulin Nation. You’ll gain insight into how the land on which Melbourne stands has transformed over time and why Birrarung Wilam holds deep cultural significance.

The experience continues with a hands-on, guided exploration at the Koorie Heritage Trust, where your team will engage with traditional Aboriginal tools, shields, and possum-skin cloaks—offering a tactile connection to Indigenous history and culture.

This unique cultural journey is perfect for fostering team cohesion, encouraging reflection, and providing a broader understanding of Australia’s First Peoples.

Intended Outcomes for Corporate Groups
  • Build a deeper understanding of Aboriginal history and the significance of the Kulin Nation's connection to the land.
  • Foster teamwork and reflection by immersing your group in an enriching, shared experience that goes beyond the usual corporate setting.
  • Encourage a more inclusive mindset by exploring Indigenous culture, traditions, and their modern-day relevance.
  • Strengthen leadership skills through reflection on cultural resilience, connection to place, and the power of storytelling.
  • Gain insights into the role of Aboriginal Peoples in shaping Melbourne’s identity, enhancing your team's sense of connection to the broader community.

This experience is an excellent way for corporate teams to reflect on the significance of culture and community while gaining new perspectives that can be carried back into the workplace.
